Three most inspiring portraits by our Artist of the Month: Mr. Pranab Nandy

Art has always played an important role when it comes to building our cultural integrity. There have been many established artists who have dedicated their life to creating art which represents the pride of our country and its rich and varied heritage. While some art upholds the message out and about, many artist’s prefer producing art which has mixed and stipulated meanings which needs the adequate mindset and knowledge to understand the intricate work towards a single art piece. We would like to introduce to you, the artist of this month ‘Mr. Pranab Nandy’, whose art is mesmerizing to gander but at the same time, when you try and understand the depth of the portrait there are multiple dimensions attached to each piece of art.

‘Walking towards a path of truth has a lot of thorns in the path but only a few can make it till the end’.

This image is a wondrous portrayal of the harsh reality of our society. It represents that when you decide to walk on a path of honesty, truth and respect, there are always thorns on the way to either scare you or slow you down from continuing throughout the way. Only a few bravehearted people can walk generously and make it till the end. There is also another interpretation to this image as the injured feets walking barefoot are the feet of a farmer who has to go through all the trials and troubles for the survival of him and his family. The thorns represent all the challenges which have surrounded him and his injury proves that the only way for him to move ahead is by stepping on the thorns and facing each challenge.

Key Learning: This portrait delivers a true message that we need to understand the true struggle of people who are around us and whilst we are going through our own troubles, there are many others who would have similar or worse problems compared to us. It's always advisable to ensure that you behave with the people around you with kindness and patience, as you are sure to create a positive impact in the lives of at least one person on a daily basis.

‘Where there is peace, there is happiness and prosperity’.

This Portrait has an image of Jesus Christ with a dove sitting on his shoulders. The dove is known to be a sign of peace and this image signifies that, to combat all the chaos and havoc in our society, the dove who is resting on the shoulders of Jesus, decided to come out of the frame and spread its peace and positivity around. In the current time, an image like these speaks in volume as it spreads an emulsifying message that we need to keep ourselves calm and not let any external factors impact our internal peace. If you notice carefully in the eyes of Jesus, you would observe it to seem subtly upset looking at what is happening to our world, and he hopes that people learn to treat each other with kindness and respect.

Key Learning:  This portrait teaches us the true essence of peace and how important it is to have peace in our life. We all know that there are many people and habits in our lives which try to destroy our peace and it's time we identify them and make the necessary amendments in our lives to eradicate such people and attract positivity and peace.

‘Kindness needs no education or any financial background, all it needs is will to help someone in need’.

This image depicts an eye-opening message that the orphans in our society need a family. This image showcases an abandoned girl, her toy and the framed picture of mother teresa who is extending her hands out of the frame to provide the abandoned girl comfort and aid. This portrait clearly calls out to each and every spectator and shows them the need of charity in today's time and how by them contributing even a little, it can help build foundations for the betterment of so many people. The artistry and intricate detailing in the picture is just flawless and this painting is sure to enlighten the minds of many individuals who would take a gander of this picture.

Key Learning:  Through this portrait we learn that there are many orphans and people in our society who need our help. We understand that not all of us can devote our full time or money to these causes, but we could at least help these causes in whatever way we can and help uplift our society and its people.
